What We Believe

The mission of this church is to worship and serve God by lifting up Jesus to a lost world, reaching out to the needs of our community, and equipping believers with God’s Word for Christian life and service.  Furthermore, having been lead, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, we do now most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

Statement of Faith—We Believe and Proclaim:

That there is but one God revealed to man in three forms; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; (John 17:3, 1 Corinthians 8:4-6, Matthew 28:19)

That God revealed Himself to mankind in the flesh; Jesus Christ, born of a virgin; (Isaiah 7:14, John 1:1-3)

That Jesus Christ died for our sins and God raised Him from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit; (1 Corinthians 15:3-5)

That Jesus Christ will come again to receive those who have trusted in Him as their Savior and Lord; (John 14:1-4)

That upon the death of those who die in Christ, the soul will go directly to be with God and bodies return to dust; (Philippians 1:21-23)

That when the resurrection of the just occurs, those who have died in Christ will have new bodies and be like Him.  Those who are alive at the coming of Jesus will be changed into His likeness; (1 Corinthians 15:50-54)

That there are two resurrections of the dead, one for the believer and the other for the unbeliever; (Revelation 20:4-6)

That there will be two judgments, one for the believer who will stand before the judgment seat of Christ to receive rewards for service and the other judgment for the unbelievers who will stand at the great white throne of God—without hope, eternally lost; (John 16:8-11, 1 Corinthians 3:12-15,  Revelation 20:11-15)

That the Holy Spirit calls a sinner to repentance and convicts him of his sins.  The Holy Spirit gives new  birth in the family of God to the one who chooses forgiveness and seals that one for eternity; (Ephesians 1:13-14)

That the Bible is the inerrant, infallible, inspired Word of God; (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

That the ordinances of the church are the Lord’s Supper and Baptism:  The Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11:17-30) is to remember what the Lord has done for us in His death.  The wine represents the blood of Christ and the bread represents His body.  Baptism (Matthew 28:16-20) is in obedience to the Lord because H saved us by His grace and in so doing, we openly associate ourselves with the Messiah.

That the Lord will come for the believer before the Great Tribulation;

That Jesus Christ will set up His Kingdom and rule here on earth for a period of one thousand years—the millennium; (Revelation 20:1-6)

That the gifts of the Spirit are for the church today as God sees fit to use them.  That every believer has been given gifts of the Holy Spirit to build the church and glorify God; (Romans 12:4-8, Ephesians 4:11-13, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 1 Corinthians 12:27-31)

That the worshipping of God cannot be accomplished with at strict format.  Each individual must worship God in his own way in accordance with the Spirit of God.

That God dwells in the praise of His people; (John 4:21-24)

That the Lord is not concerned with the social or financial status of those in the church, nor is He concerned about fashion trends.  He is concerned with the spiritual life of those who claim to belong to Him;

That we are saved by GRACE through faith; plus nothing, minus nothing.  Salvation belongs to the Lord and is given to any person who will accept what God has done for mankind in Jesus Christ.  Even the faith God gave us to believe is a gift from Him; (Ephesians 2:8-10)

That music is Spirit-filled, inspired by God, and based on the Holy Scriptures.  Music must uplift Jesus Christ and give glory to God; (Ephesians 5:18-20)

That teaching God’s whole inspired Word is essential. (2 Timothy 4:1-5)
